History of Edgewater Maryland

 

Edgewater is a registration assigned spot (CDP) in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. The populace was 9,023 at the 2010 census.

Geology

Edgewater is a rural area found southwest of Annapolis on the south side of the flowing South River. It is flanked by Mayo toward the east, Riva toward the west, and Lothian toward the south. Toward the north, across the South River, are the networks of Parole and Annapolis Neck.

Edgewater is regularly viewed as a suburb of Annapolis because of its closeness and improvement in the zone. The territory is consistently expanding with retail and private turn of events. Edgewater is important for the southern bit of Anne Arundel County. Londontown, Southdown, South River Colony, Glebe Heights, Gingerville and Edgewater Beach are a portion of the areas found in Edgewater.

Transportation

Maryland Route 2 (Solomons Island Road) is the principle north-south street through the network fixed with organizations and private turns of events, driving north across the South River Bridge to Annapolis and south to Prince Frederick and past. Maryland Route 214 (Central Avenue) converges MD 2 and structures the southern limit of the CDP driving east to the networks of Beverly Beach and Mayo. Maryland Route 253 (Mayo Road) bends through the focal point of the CDP in the Londontown area interfacing Routes 2 and 214.

Lee Airport is an overall avionics air terminal in Edgewater.
